If you are traveling to Thailand for the first time or the 100th it’s nice to know that there will be someone waiting for you at the airport to get you to your destination. Mr. Toom’s taxi service is very reliable and reasonably priced. There are taxi stands and private cars for hire but they usually charge much more and the taxi drivers will try to rip you off sometimes by not turning on the meter and or claiming it to be broken. Even if they are honest about the meter and tolls they will give you a never ending sales pitch for women, massage parlors, and gems.
Mr. Toom charges a flat fee of 1200 baht to your destination and 1000 baht return to the airport which is quite reasonable and includes all tolls and gas. He has many drivers and the ones I have had were very friendly and got me to my destination safe and sound.
I’ve used Mr. Toom to get to Bangkok and Pattaya….and considering Pattaya is almost 2 hours away from the new airport the cost of 1200 baht ( $34.00 ) is well worth it.

Mr. Toom does indeed have good prices to Pattaya. I’ve heard 2000 baht one way from other taxi drivers. Not that I was looking… only listening.
I have a special deal with my taxi driver too. By hours, not meter. We had to come up with the hours because he’s not always in his cab. He’s shopping with me.

lol that’s awesome Cat. Mr. Toom is always good to his word and he has quite a few drivers working for him and every one except the very first one I used have been exceptional.
The first driver I got through him had glasses so thick if he looked into the sun he would fry his brain. He couldn’t understand the concept of driving lanes so he drove in two at a time until I said something to him….then he drove on the shoulder of the road!
Panic! Two lanes at a time? The shoulder? Ouch.
My GF had a reserve driver who was awful. And he was driving her expensive car in BKK, not a company car. So, if the car gets wrecked? Mai bpen rai… yeah. And what about injuries? Mai bpen rai…
She is really nice, so the only way she could get up the nerve to fire him was to have me in the car for one trip.

just wanna ask, for mr. toom’s service, do you pay him first in advance or only when you meet him at the airport?

Sounds like a bargain from Mr. Toom. I admit the first time I travelled to Bangkok I was met by a posse of supposed taxi drivers offering me transportation to places I had never heard of for a price I had no idea about!
To this day it still makes me chuckle when I pass through the airport and see new arrivals talking to excited drivers about how they will get to Pattaya.
It’s nice to think that there are genuine drivers out there; I hope Mr. Tooms business is booming now after this free bit of advertising.
