After spending 2 years and 9 months in a Vietnam prison for molesting two young girls Gary Glitter was released today and promptly deported from the country.  Glitter wanted to stay in Vietnam but they thought it was time for him to leave.

He boarded a flight to Thailand on Thai Air and was supposed to have boarded a connecting flight to Great Britain but instead tried to enter Thailand. He was informed by passport control he was not permitted entry to the kingdom. Although he argued that he was a free person to Thai authorities, it fell on deaf ears.

The connecting flight he was supposed to board to Great Britain also came with a complimentary British police officer to escort him home. It’s believed that upon landing in Great Britain Glitter would be ordered to sign a sex offenders register and most likely would have his passport revoked as the British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she didn’t want him traveling abroad again.

Apparently Glitter saw this coming and will do anything he can to not go back to Britain. As for now he is staying in a VIP area of Bangkok airport, where they have sleeping areas, while he figures out his next move which is reported to be flying to Singapore.

Originally he was arrested, charged and jailed in Great Britain for having child pornography on his computer. After a short jail sentence he was released and immediately he headed for South East Asia. He went to Thailand for a short time and then entered Cambodia where he was asked to leave the country for unknown reasons…I’m sure we can all guess why. He then settled in Vietnam where he was arrested for molesting two girls aged 10 and 11 and given a three year jail sentence.

Hopefully no Asian nation will allow him entry and he will have no choice but to go back to Britain and remain there for the rest of his miserable life. Poetic justice would be having someone follow him from airport customs to airport customs playing Rock and Roll Part 2 on a portable sound system as he gets denied entry.

Update: According to Thai authorities after being told he could not enter Thailand as a conviced sex offender  he got a room at the VIP hotel located within Bangkok airport and complained of not feeling well. Doctors were summoned and gave him a clean bill of health to travel.

Now glitter is refusing to check out of the hotel airport. Thailand has a strict rule on transit passengers that they must board a plane within 12 hours and when Glitter failed to check out Lieutenant General Chatchawal Suksomjit said in a statement:

“Paul Francis Gadd (Gary Glitter) will be deported to his home country, England, unconditionally and as soon as possible,

Update 2: After 20 hours in transit at Bankok Airport and threat of detention by Thai customs Glitter is on a plane bound for Hong Kong… He was previously denied entrance there but for some reason is being allowed now. I’m sure he’ll be ejected from Hong Kong within a few weeks or find himself incarcerated again.

Update3: Hong Kong granted Glitter an interview thats why he flew to Hong Kong. After the entrance interview he was denied entrance and put back on a plane to his point of origin, Thailand. Thai Authorities have made it clear that he will not be allowed to stay and they have told Thai Air that he is thier responcibility as their passenger. This means Glitter will have no choice but to be put back on a Thai Air plane headed for London, his original destination.
