I've been gone a long time (since '94 this time around) and I do get a kick out of my home country being foreign to me.

A lot of times I don't know what they are talking about because I don't watch the same shows on TV, I don't know local politics (only international and only what I can get here), and I don't know about their newer stores or restaurants or available food.

It was the same when my parents moved the family back to the US when their final tour was done. The lingo, the food (what in the heck was a Twinky?) the tv shows were all new. Oh, and I spoke with an accent, making me foreign to them!

But I was raised an expat and that feels normal to me, so an expat I'll gladly stay.

Yeah, that was the first time I saw a two dollar bill in years. Their so rare now that if you have one and use it you're liable to have the police called because a lot of people don't realize America has a two dollar bill.

Once I'm there full time that yeah will have mucho !!!!! behind it :)

Lucky you :-)
