Fine Dining at the Bangkok Shell Station Revisited

Dining at the Shell Station in Bangkok

While working on various things this weekend in preparation of next months trip to Thailand Iv’e been going through a lot of pictures. I can look at the pictures I’ve taken and relive where I’ve been and the experiences I’ve had and figure out where I want to go and the experiences I want to have.

Well, whenever I go through all the pictures I always run across the pictures in this post and I can’t help but laugh. Hell, I think everyone should have the deluxe fine dining experience at the Shell Station complete with candlelight at the pumps!

These were among the very first pictures I ever took in Thailand when I took the river boat taxi to the end and just got lost in the city, also some of the first pictures I published in this blog. Even though they always make me smile they also remind me how cool it is to explore the world around you, get lost in it,  and take it all in. That’s one of the reasons I love Thailand…you never know whats next.

Hopefully someone will see this and realize that life isn’t all about work, commitments and bills…life should be lived and you should explore the world around you even if it’s just down the street. Take the first step and I guarantee it will change how you think about life.

I’m going exploring…how bout you?

I heard from a friend who has a shop nearby that the Shell station will be destroyed to make space for… more shops! The police appartments nearby have already gone, there is a brand new shopping plazza/hotel being built on Khao San…. Khao San, which I never liked is turning into a Western High Street… might not be that bad! Take care of these pix!

Roger, I never saw the allure of Khao San road either…unless of course you like seeing chubby white chicks getting their hair braided. Thanks for the heads up I’ll have to stop by next month and take some more pics before they tear it down.

Unbelievable. A restaurant in a petrol station forecourt. It could only happen in Thailand. Wish I had seen it. I have been thinking about Petrol station related foods for over a day now but its got me beat. PUMPkin was about all I could come up with. Surely someone can better that.

Hopefully it hasn’t been closed by the time I get back next month…I can go and give it a proper food review.
