It is actually quite a tasty drink! Agreed it doesn't seem the best use of resources.

Maybe they thought it would get some coverage in the press, or just people talking about Thailand.

That mango idea's a good one, maybe we should use that to market our authentic cooking holidays, thanks!

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Not sure if that drink has any appeal whatsoever.

Thanks for stopping by,

Apparently they really do believe...

"Successful signature drinks are one way to fast-track holiday destinations onto the world tourism map," the tourism authority said in a joint statement with the Thai Hotels Association.

Sound more of a cockup than a cocktail. do they really think that people would go to Thailand just for a ne cocktail? the is a world recession, don't they know that. You can't squeeze blood out of a stone. But then this quango wojld be out of work if they didn't have projects like this. I thknk they should be out of work anyway with this kind of result.

I don't think we get the Amazing Thailand ads here...I've never seen one.

Andrew did indeed eat rats because he was filming in South East Asia right around Chinese new year when it was the year of the rat. Oddly enough I think he liked them but damn near puked when he tried to eat a durian.

I will certainly have a go at the new Thailand in a glass drink, even if it does seem a strange mix. Thailand could certainly do more to promote what is a first class product delivered by a second rate marketing crew. I have yet to see a TAT commercial here in England but India tourism for example launched a campaign for their country last year. If you want to sell something then you are right, get it out there where the customers can see it.
