I got caught up in a similar flood in Udon Thani city last year and unlike you I didn't enjoy it at all. At least you're now in the normally dry resort of Pattaya so stick your Bangkok wet socks on the balcony and go and wet your insides. I love China Town and don't get out there near enough. Now with a new camera, I need to retake everything I took before. I got caught in that rain yesterday and loved it. Crowding under overpasses with Thais walking and on motorcycles. Then running like mad with it still dumping down. As I was near one of my favourte restaurants, to get out of the rain I stopped by (dripping wet) for an early dinner.
