A very well written post and some great photos. Impressive stuff. I didn't know the market was in Ratchaburi and great enlightment on the scam. It makes me wonder what else we are all getting ripped off with.

I dislike the hordes too so take off once it gets claustrophobic.

There are several small floating markets around worth the visit. I recently went to a local one; only three expats (I was one) during the whole time I was there.

There is a lot of beauty to be seen that's for sure. I should have hopped off the boat and hung out at one of the bridges for a while but unfortunately it was getting ever more crowded with tourists and the good shots were dissipating fast.

Hi Talen, great post on what to avoid when going to the floating markets in Thailand.

I'm a floating market fan as the photos are just so beautiful.

Also, you can stay in one place, popping off a hundred photos or more, with the scenery coming to you!
