Thailand Mystery to Me

Symbols on a house in Thailand

The picture above is a bit of a mystery to me that I haven’t been able to work out. On the doors to the storage area under the family house in Nakhon Phanom are three symbols, 2 hearts followed by a circled cross. I’ve seen these symbols together a few times in Nakhon Phanom as well as in Mukdahan. They are always on a house and always on a door or window.

Now the easiest answer would be to ask Pookie but I decided to keep it a mystery and see if I could figure it out myself with a little research and so far I’ve come up with nothing. So, now I’m looking to see if any of you have come across these symbols or other similar symbols in your travels of Thailand.

Hi Talen according to MTF who is a Bangkok Thai it Thai graffiti! She says heart symbol has same meaning as West. She cannot explain cross.

She then went on to try and explain something about Hong Nam but she lost me there!

Ask Pookie and let us know please.

Hmmm herein lies the problem Mike. I know when I go to ask Pookie I’m going to get something similar to what you got from MTF…or worse since it will be over the phone.

I might have to email her the picture and go from there. I really thought I could figure it out or someone out there might have a clue.

    The first one isn’t a heart. It’s a ghost.

You can cheat now Cat…cause I don’t have an answer for this one. Might be a mystery for a while.
