Talen rest assured Adidas will suppress the Thai workers to the full giving them little above the minimum wage, whilst their profits soar even higher. I hope your fellow Americans join you in your boycott of their goods but sadly I fear very few will even know of the change in supplier and country.

Excellent news about the opening of the Elephant Centre but I'm still a little disturbed about your last news report on the Thai and Vietnamese authorities seizing so much ivory. At least this is a positive step and hopefully their numbers will one day increase.

I can certainly understand the anger towards Adidas. While Thailand does need jobs (what country doesn't?), the US has the major buying power at the moment, so taking away US jobs does not make a whole lot of sense.

(note: as I am not up on the small details of the US market, there just might be other forces that I am unaware of)

There is nothing wrong with bringing more jobs to Thailand but not at the expense of American jobs.

How would you feel if Thai companies started sending all their manufacturing work to other countries and your people were losing more and more jobs every year?

As far as anyone being exploited in Thailand I think opinions would differ on who is exploiting who but regardless the problem wouldn't exist if rural Thai's were given the same opportunities as those upper class Thai's that reside in Bangkok.
