Reggae on the Rocks 2

Reggae on the Rocks 2

Saturday July 31st will see the second annual Reggae on the Rocks Festival at the Northern end of Cha-am Beach. Music will start at 3pm and go on until midnight.

Last years festival drew over 100,000 people and this years event is sure to draw at least as many if not more. There is a pretty impressive line up of musicians as well including:

T-BONE

Teddy Ska Band

BIG ASS

Moderndog

The Richman Toy

Jui Juis

The SuperGlasses Ska Ensemble

Zom Ammara & The Siam Sun

Paradox

Jofax

25 hours

Slot Machine

The Bottom Blues

This looks like it will be the place to be at the end of July so you might not want to miss this one. For more information on upcoming events’ holidays and festivals please check out the Thailand Event Calender.

Talen, I must admit to a smile or two when I read the names of some of the performers.

I wonder if bottom blues will be on after big ass?

Mike, Thai bands do have some fanciful names don’t they? Actually believe it or not Big Ass is a really good band and one of my favorites.

Talen reading Mike’s comment I must add if the Slot Machine follow Big Ass then The Bottom Blues performing after would seem most appropriate.

I think if you had to choose one type of modern music to sum up the characteristics of Thai people then reggae would be it. It’s so kind of laid back and mai phen rai.

It’s going to be party time on Cha-am beach and Mike is living close enough to the action to view it.
