Christmas Day in Thailand

Christmas Day in Pattaya was much fun spent with friends and taking advantage of all the fun events and great food available around town. Thailand is a Christmas paradise for men if for nothing else than being able to shop on Christmas day at 5 in the evening and knowing that the stores will still be open until 10pm. One of my favorite events during the day was the Thai children singing Christmas Carols in the mall while I was shopping.

Christmas kicks off a week long gala in Pattaya leading up to New Years Eve. So, if you are in town prepare to have some fun and if not I’m sure I can get some pictures and videos for you.

Below are some videos and pictures that made for a great Christmas. I hope you and yours had a great day as well.

Talen, great stuff, I had Doy singing Jingle bells all day, she has an interesting way of saying “sleigh.”

Mind you I reckon Santa would have been very happy to have the two Thai reindeer along for the ride. On second thoughts perhaps I ought to say journey as this is a family friendly place ;-)

Mike, I would love to hear Doy singing jingle bells.

I have a feeling Santa would have been happy with a ride during his journey :P

Talen, what fun videos, ta :-D

I’ve now sent the elephant Xmas video to my kids.

When I was visiting early this month the little ones had a time getting their heads around elephants wandering streets, so this will get them used to the idea.

Happy Boxing day! And a ho ho ho…

Thanks Talen! I’m almost home. It’s been great experiencing the coldest winter in 100 years (love the snow), but I’m ready for the tropics.

Hi Talen, it looks like there are lots of exciting things happening in Pattaya this week. I spent Christmas day indoors except for a few minutes when we took my son out on his new motorbike (baby bike). I managed to keep off the web for most of the day and this was a nice break.

Talen it all looks like a fun day, mine was a bit quieter in Udon Thani but still enjoyable.

Merry Christmas from myself and Wilai.

Enjoyed the jingle bell singers. Someone should tell them to share the microphones though. LOL.

And I particularly enjoyed the last picture. Say hello to the reindeer girls for me! ;-)

Have to say your reports from Pattaya sure give the city a different (almost normal, everyday) spin.

Rick, The jingle bell singers were cute but you’re right some of them didn’t want to share the mike much.

I never thought I would enjoy an update from Pattaya as much as I have. Thanks for sharing your pictures! One holiday down and another to go. . .

Lani, I’ll be kind of glad when the next one is up…it’s been non stop fireworks all week long and big crowds. I’m looking forward to low season :P
