Pattaya Chonburi Cultural Festival Part 1

Pattaya Chonburi Cultural Festival

The Pattaya Chonburi Cultural Festival this weekend was so good it’s going to take 2 posts to show you all the beautiful sights and scrumptious food. Say what you will about Pattaya but it’s events like this that make Pattaya shine and show itself for what it can really be. I won’t bore you with too many words today…I’ll let the photos do the talking for me.

Are the boats made at the festival, or something that is just brought to decorate?

I didn’t know that Pattaya had any culture.

Lawrence, Pattaya has quite a lot of culture but you would never know it with all the misinformation out there…much more to the town than bars and girls if you know what to look for.

Maybe some day I will take a trip over there. I’ve never heard anything good about the place though. Everyone tells me that it is controlled by the Russian’s and that it is equivalent to downtown Bangkok on the beach. Doesn’t sound too appealing to me, but maybe some day.

Lawrence, it’s nothing like downtown Bangkok and while there are many Russian tourists it’s not a hub for the Russian Mafia like many of the clueless on Thai Visa suggest. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but over the last 6 years Pattaya has changed quite a bit and it continues to do so.
