Pattaya Chonburi Cultural Festival Part 2

Pattaya Cultural Festival

Pattaya Chonburi Cultural Festival

Continuing on from yesterday’s post  I have to say, again, a big well done to Pattaya for putting on a very lovely festival full of great food, fun, crafts, cultural shows and great music on 4 stages throughout Beach Road. This was just one of many events scheduled for the lead up to the King’s birthday in December. There was a large section of Beach road dedicated to the king with paintings and pictures of the King throughout his reign as well as an area where anyone could sign a book and leave well wishes for the King. It may not be much but I wished the king a wonderful day and signed my name along with others.

It was a beautiful weekend in Pattaya with the sun shining brightly and nothing but blue skies which made for a great festival setting.

The craftsmanship by the artists that were present was spectacular and it really made for a beautiful setting along Beach road, of course there was also plenty of food on hand and Thai treats that are hard to resist. I’m not sure when the next event is on Beach road but I have a feeling it won’t be too long before another festival is under way.

Looks like a great festival for a foodie, like so many Thai festivals I’m assuming. That last photo with the melons is great, that takes immense skill and patience to be cutting the fruit like that!

Is it a very tourist orientated festival or something the locals really enjoy?

Collin, The festival is much more handicrafts and cultural stuff than food but whenever there is a party there is always food about.

I would say the event is intended for everyone, considering it’s low low season and there aren’t a lot of tourists around there were many more Thai’s present.

Good lord, is that woman (6 photos down) making noodle spring roll wrappers from scratch? Wonderful photos Talen! I’m not sure I get the gist of that T Shirt though…unless it has something to do with increasing fuel prices :)

Snap, no, those aren’t noodle spring roll wrappers…that is a really yummy Thai treat…sweet and crunchy.

Yeah, I guess the t-shirt is about gas prices…least that was my interpretation.

Nice pictures, it looks like it was a very fun festival. A lot of good food too. I really love that last picture with the melons, fruit carving is such an art.

Bodlagz, Yeah, I had to leave early on Sunday myself and missed the night activities but still a very nice affair and better than the standard Pattaya festival.

Talen you’ve done Pattaya proud with your two posts crammed full of wonderful photos showing that Thailand’s wild child resort is starting to lower its hem and cast aside its high heels. Lawrence really should take a trip to Pattaya and see for himself that it has so much more to offer than bars and sex.

My favourite photo is the one of the young pup asleep in its comfy basket.

You must be piling on the kilos with all these great festivals taking place.

It really was a nice festival and the organizers did a great job…that puppy was adorable too.

The food looks delicious but I wonder how healthy it is, I really like fruit too but even that is full of sugar albiet natural. I gained about 30 pounds in 16 months since I brought my honey back to America, was it her Thai cooking?

Rambone, Truth be told there are a lot of unhealthy food choices in Thailand with fried foods and heavy sauces but I think for the most part the healthy dishes outweigh the unhealthy…fact is even the healthiest of foods can be bad if we over eat.

I would say that the event was really great and the festival itself is much more handicrafts and cultural stuff than food but whenever there is a party there is always food about. I love to attend at this kind of festivities where I can witnessed their different cultures and traditions that makes them who they are.
