Ever since I was young I have always been fascinated by Asia and Asian culture. In 2006 I made my first trip to Thailand and I instantly fell in love with the country and it’s people. I did an exhaustive amount of research before my first trip and found a lot of great information on hotels and nightlife but not a lot of detailed information on tourist attractions, culture or North East Area of Thailand known as Issan.

After my first trip to Thailand I knew I was hooked and I was back within six months. Since then I have made many trips to the Land of Smiles and plan on living in North East Thailand within the next few years.

I started Thailand, Land of Smiles in 2007 with the intent to share my experiences through stories and pictures and in hopes that someone planning their first trip to Thailand or their 20th can find some useful information and tips in my writings and maybe get a better insight into the great mystery that is the Thai culture.

Aside from my writings,  Thailand, Land of Smiles has fostered a great community of other like minded individuals who also love, live and breath Thailand.So, If you should have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
