With more than 400 000 visitors last year, this festival has become one of the major cultural events of the Kingdom. Organized by the French Embassy in Thailand and the Alliance Française de Bangkok, “La Fête” attracts a very large and mainly Thai audience through the variety of its program and a wide range of ticket prices.

The Phra Buddhamahadammaraja Buddha image is invocated in the Um Phra Dam Nam ritual bathing ceremony performed by the provincial governor to ensure an abundance of crops, plentiful harvests and the prosperity of Petchabun, the ‘city of plants and crops’.
