Mmmm Thai Food

One week to go before I am off for a much needed break in Thailand and I can’t stop thinking about the food. Thai food is just pervading my every thought at the moment…it even looks amazing.

I won’t be getting in to Bangkok until after 1 Am but you can bet once the bags hit the bed I’ll be out in the street hitting up the food carts. Seeing as my lady’s bus from Mukdahan doesn’t pull in to the station until 5Am what better than to while away the time with some chicken hearts and sticky rice.

Well, If I’m going to make myself hungry I might as well share some pics to make everyone else hungry too.

The bottom middle photo has solved a mystery for me. The delicious fruit that I’ve eaten chilled from the refrigerator with ice cream on top is dragon fruit. I always meant to ask Wilai the name but never got round to it. Thanks.

@Martyn The fruit with the black spots in the pulp is called dragon fruit. This one http://thailandlandofsmiles.com/wp-content/gallery/thai-food/Picture%20146_800×600.jpg is called Chomphuu, no dragon fruit but still yummy!!!

I also love Thai food. I fell in love with a Thai girl who’s family owned a couple restaurants here in Chiang Mai, Thailand and have been here for over six years now. The family still has a couple restaurants and my now wife has opened a small cozy little restaurant in downtown Chiang Mai as well as a cooking school teaching her family’s unique cooking style. So if anyone is near, drop by and have a taste. You wont be dissapointed. Try the cooking course if you like to cook.
