Another Beautiful Sunrise in Pattaya

Pattaya sunrise

Well, the last few days have gone rather quickly. I’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing for the past two days due to some dodgy pork I ate the other night. The good news is I am much better now thanks to the doctor at the clinic and Pokie taking good care of me.

It’s an odd thing that I can get quick, efficient and cheap medical care here in Thailand whereas if I were in the States it would be the exact opposite. Now, I’m not talking about brain surgery here but the kind of medical care most families need on a daily basis. The quick in and out have a sore throat or stomach cramps kinda thing. There was a time in America when everyone had a family doctor they would go to for such things and the doctor knew you and treated you quickly and cheaply…a relic of our past I guess.

Anyway, I’ve still been busy the past few days. Hanging out in the rain at Starbucks next to Tukcom for a bit and then shopping for ingredients for a home cooked Lao meal. Looks like next week I’ll be heading to Mukdahan for Songkran then on to Nacome Phanom where I’m told I’ll be having a working vacation. For now just a few pics.

wow, what a sunrise. i lived in a house in costa rica for a long while where the sun woke us up every morning as it peaked its orange head over the volcanoes and surrounding mountains. but yours wins the prize!

Talen great pics I like the sun rise but they are all good. My favourite is the monks.

Haven’t seen any rain here for a long while hope it doesn’t dampen your holiday!

Glad to see you have the essentials in the Starbuck’s shot.

What a great photo, looks swell. April and it’s raining in Pattaya…even more amazing. I hope I don’t live to regret saying this but I’ve never had any stomach problems in Thailand only mandatory chest viruses brought on by the dreaded air condition due to me being a chain smoking asthmatic. Reading your Pattaya posts brings back many great memories, Wilai and myself are heading there for four days ourselves next month. Thanks for the taster.

Talen , you have a way with the camera and always capture some great shots, did you get the didgy pork at a roadside stand? I will eat food from roadside stands all over Thailand except for Bkk , and I don’t really know why. I’m sure when you get up north the is a honey do list from hell just waiting on you , take it easy and don’t try to do it all in one day Malcolm

Malcolm, I actually got the dodgy pork at the hotel restaurant. Great hotel but crap food! And the honey do list is growing…apparently there is a barn to be mucked out now too….
