Okay, there are probably more than a few that will argue that Pattaya is far from paradise but this is my dementia so let me deal with it my way. There are more than a few big posts rambling around in my head at the moment but they need a little more time to ferment and to be honest I’m being lazy today. I’ve been doing a lot of studying and working on various web sites lately, and with the server move imminent this weekend I wanted a little time for myself today to do something I love. Walking and taking pictures.
I only meant to take an hour long walk or so but my feet seemed to have a mind of their own and took me on a 3 hour walk all around pattaya from Bali Hai pier down to dolphin roundabout and up every side street I had never walked before. Sure, many will tell you that Pattaya is a sleazy dirty town and it’s inhabitants less than respectable but if you look real close you can find the beauty of this city rather easily.
I guess it’s all in what you are looking for. For me today was about relaxing, walking and enjoying the morning sun before it gave way to the afternoon rain. I’ll let you be the judge if I caught Pattaya’s good side or not.

Wonderful pictures Talen. You seem to have an eye for photgraphy. I’m glad that you are relaxing into your new home. Good luck with the new server.

Paul , Thanks. There is definitely some relaxing going now
All nice pictures. Last one is nice too.
Joe, I particularly like the last pic myself….took a few pictures of her.
Your pix paint a very pretty picture of Pattaya, one TAT might like to see promoted around the world.
So, you saving all the pictures of the dirty sleezy side of Pattaya for yourself?
BTW, have you posted any more Patty pix from your walk elsewhere?

Rick, oh, but I have the dirty and sleazy pics too…I’ll be doing a few posts about them in the future.
Haven’t posted much of the other pics yet but soon me thinks.
Talen you’ve taken some lovely photos of my old stomping ground and not a tourist in sight in any of them. My favourite is the bottom right one.
Lazy days in Pattaya aren’t too bad, there’s always plenty of people watching to do. A beer or two is needed for the study of that particular science. It looks like you did a little prep with the photo I mentioned above.
Enjoy.
Martyn, people watching in Pattaya is a great past time and you must keep hydrated well
I changed lenses for the last photo…she deserved it…
Hi Talen,
Love to walk around PTY myself. It’s a fascinating palce and you can find whatever you want to find there, including the ‘real Thailand’

Ahhhh – to laze away the day doing little or nothing. Conserving energy for the night to come. That is Pattaya.
Pattaya is as beautiful as any town in Thailand. It is, like many tourist locations marginally less beautiful in the evenings. This is primarily due to the alcohol, the drugs and the prostitution that is rampant in our country. Not to be deterred or sympathetic, the prostitution in Thailand provides much needed income for a vast number of women and men who would otherwise starve. Until the human rights charter can increase options for these young and not so young people, they will continue to do what has to be done to feed and house their families.
Who created this phenomenon? Foreigners of course. Who has the solution? Foreigners of course.
