Ten years of jazz on the beach in Hua Hin, this year will be the 10th annual Hua Hin Jazz Festival. The dates for the 2011 Hua Hin Jazz Festival is August 26 – 27, 2011 at Hua Hin Beach in front of Sofitel Centara Grand and Villa Resort Hua Hin. Originally the Hua Hin Jazz Festival was scheduled for mid June and then it was re-scheduled for early July, now of course it’s scheduled for late August.

Either way music lovers will still flock to Hua Hin for the Annual Jazz Festival which draws top jazz acts from around thew world for 3 days of completely free jazz music under the stars.

Hua Hin has long been recognized as a major influence in Thailand’s jazz scene since the 1950′s and the recent ten years of organized Hua Hin Jazz Festivals has been a testament to that honor as well as a a testament to the honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej whose jazz compositions and musicianship has become an integral part of the Hua Hin Jazz Festival.

HM the King, who has penned a host of jazz compositions and is a fine saxophone player in his own right. Hua Hin is also an important base from where HM King has initiated rural projects over the years that promote village economies in nearby provinces. Therefore, the town is justly proud of its royal heritage, second only to the Thai capital, Bangkok.

Unfortunately due to the shifting dates there has yet to be any official schedule or announcement of acts performing at this years Hua Hin Jazz Festival but as soon as they are posted the schedule and list of acts will be posted here so stay tuned.

Strange to advertise a festival with no confirmed line-up.

Colin, While I don’t like to post a festival without schedule the Hua Hin Jazz festival is a very big deal and people need time to make plans if they are going…The artist lineup is impeccable every year and the festival is always a hit so it’s not that big of a deal.

And yes …I am going. :)
